“WHAT’S DIFFERENT?” CARDS

Use these cards to improve your child’s visual attention

Help enhance your kids’ visual attention and comparison know how with these cards!

What’s the difference?

These are 5 pairs of similar images that have sight differences in them.

Ask the child to identity by pointing or verbalizing which parts of the drawing is/are different by saying. “These pictures look the same but if you look closer, you’ll find there’s something different. Can you find and point to these?” It is better if the child not only points but also verbalizes his or her responses. You can give a time limit of 5 to 10 seconds depending on the child’s age.

IMPORTANT POINTS

These activities were designed to be done with adult supervision for opportunities to help enhance parent / adult – child interaction and learning, during the period of the pandemic when educational materials may not be readily available and outdoor play may be restricted. Engaging in these activities should not go beyond a total of 1 hour per day.

Remember to always involve verbal communication and points for conversation while working with the cards.

And always remember that it is still best to limit children’s total daily screen time to 1 to 2 hours day, even during the pandemic.
